how does the AR.GeoLocation determine the distanceToUser() ?

Hi Luke,
The user location comes from the system. On Android e.g. you can influence the accuracy with different Location strategies.

According to the documentation (http://www.wikitude.com/doc/alr/Location.html) there is a method to call on a GeoLocation which returns back how far away that object is.
I want to know how the users location is determined. Is there a global variable that has to be set?
I cannot get my head round that and do not feel comfortable using a method which I cannot reliably know how it has determined my location, as really I would like to set my location myself.
