Point Of Interest: Poi At Location example

Point Of Interest: Poi At Location example

Hello,

Radar shows count of POI. This count changes when slider is dragged. The POI themselves do not show in radar view, just like in POI examples

The POI examplse shows count - like "n Places loaded" They do not show individual markers. Same in radar view. Only count shows - not position of markers

Thanks

Ok - so the Radar is working and showing POIs.

The AR content is using HTML layers.

Hello,

The reason the permission should not be issue is that Architect view checks for sensors right at start and shows error if it does not find compass sensor. In this particular case, no error is shown

Almost all devices I tried are remote. Meaning, the devices are in remote locaton. And the apk is uploaded using internet. And then the app is used remotely. The devices are probably in some dark corner physically

The radar works. So if I drag to change distance, number of entries change

A question: Are the POi's displayed at html layer or in camera picture layer? If answer is at camera level, then - since the camera picture is dark - the POI simply do not show b'cos they are in dark, may be

Thanks

If your screen stays black it might have to do with the set-up and e.g. the permissions set. Please check against the set-up guide. What happens if you enter the view more than once - does the screen stay black as well?

As for the location of the POI - what Simon tried to explain is that the POI can be displayed everywhere areound you, so it might happen that the POI marker is not shown directly in front of your view finder -> so when turning around, if everything is set-up correctly you should find the POI.

Do you see the POIs displayed in the Radar element of the sample 6.2 Adding Radar?

Hello,

All Poi examples show message like "n places loaded". But markers are not visible, as the picture above shows. Whether it is example with one Poi or many, Poi markers are not visible. Count of Poi shows, on clicking "i" button. Like "n places loaded". Markers themselves are not visible on screen

Of course, I did not change source code before running example

I tried several devices. I have tried many devices. At least two are samsung (4.x+) , One Asus, One motorola, and many more

And as I said above, marker images are not to be blamed. They are in correct folder. I verified this by adding an html img tag

I even tried Andy, the emulator. I know emulators do not have sensors. But Andy somehow has. The result with Andy is exactly same as with real devices. That is, markers do not show

Andy, being emulator, may not have acces to camera. Could that be the reason for markers not showing up

The devices I tried are all real and online - that is https://cloud.testdroid.com/#service/interactive Could that be the reason? Being online, the deveices may not have camera accesible. In the picture you can see that the scene is dark

Thanks

Hi,

So if you start this sample there is no POI shown. What happens if you start the Mulitple POIs sample - do you see any POIs with this sample? If not:

- did you change anything in the sample

- what device are you testing with

Hello,

The Poi SDK example (Point Of Interest -> Poi with Label) is supposed to show Poi markers on screen, irrespective of where in the world my device is located. The example does display message "1 place loaded". What the example fails to do is display a marker for this place. This can be seen in the picture of the device shown above

Can you please quote me source when you claim "The Poi of this sample won't be right in front of you when you launch the world."? I have checked the source code, and I do not find your claim as true

Thanks

Hello Rajeev,

did you turn and look around you a little bit? The Poi of this sample won't be right in front of you when you launch the world.

Best regards,
Simon

Hello,

I am new to wikitude. I run the example Point Of Interest -> Poi with Label (the second of the four POI examples that come with SDK) ). This example shows message "1 place loaded" on device. And the screen does not show any markers.

I am attaching a screen shot of my Samsung Galaxy Nexus SPH-L700 4.3 This is how the Poi example (from SDK) looks like on my device

I have checked that the marker images are at correct location in example folder

I have tried Poi examples on four different devices - two of which are samsung, one asus. In all these devices, the markers are not visible. Only count of markers are shown in Toast (like '<n> places loaded')

Thanks
