How to make a recognizable box

I want to create a carton box and place a character on it with augmented reality.

What are the features that the box should have for optimal object recognition?

Is it better if all the sides of the box are similar or is it better if they are different?

Is it a good idea to glue markers on all the sides of the box?

Should I paint the sides of the box with different colors?

I made some experiment and wikitude studio create a flat point cloud if the sides of the box are similar.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

Hi Francesco,


In general it's better if each side is different - so no repeating structures - you realize this by glueing markers on the side and check the pointcloud if it's feasible.
