Hey Everyone,

 

I am trying to find a way to embed photos and videos without any coding...such as through a KML file. I would like the photo or video to be part of the VR icon that appears. Is there any way to do this? I am creating my maps thought Google Maps then exporting the KML file and importing it into Wikitude.

Hi,

if you want to publish it in Wikitude you can upload poi descriptions in KMLs or ARML. However customizing is very limited to ensure a good experience within Wikitude.

As for the SDK we have a few examples that should get you started quickly on display POIs. Customizing the POIs is then easily done by adding e.g. Images and Labels to a POI. I do understand that this requires coding, but is currently the only way to customize geo experiences.

It's been 4 years since this reply...has the ability to publish images from KML files into Wikitude been implemented?  My World still has the greyscale placeholder for an image in each of my POIs.

If you are working with KML files then I suggest you search our forum and you will be able to find lots of information on how to handle and work with these files. I have put only a few forum posts below for further reference.
