Api for generating target files

Hi..
Happy new year :)

Is there any api for generating target files without using your web interface.
I'm working on a system where the user can maintain target-images and related actions on a server (that the app contacts upon startup), and it would be great if I somehow could send a package with images (and filenames) and somehow get a trace-file in return.
